The Director of Bamboo Culture International, Margaret Shiu is invited as a one of the keynote speaker for 2011 Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts: The Interconnected World. The conference is from 7-11 April, in Boston, the United States. Ms. Shiu will present in two sessions: “ Making the case for Residencies/ exchange and similar programs, on the 9th , to introduce an overall residency program in Asian countries, including Taiwan. On the 10th , She will speak of the topic: Academic Partners: Towards a Global University, which will present Hua Lien International Artist Workshop as a case study. Except Ms. Shiu, The Executive Director of Taipei Artist Village is invited to participate in the Conference as well.
The Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts: The Interconnected World is the international forum for emerging and established artists, cultural administrators, residency directors, teachers, critics and curators providing a unique cross-disciplinary platform to network, showcase, support and promote artists' work.
As Director or the London Biennale, David Medalla described, "One of the best things in the world of art today.", more than 70 representatives from around the world will be on hand to present their programs and provide networking opportunities for artists to interact with their international peers. Artists also have great one-on-one opportunity to introduce their own works, and to find out more possibilities for residency and exhibition all over the world.
